Clipping can range from Traditional and Modern cuts. Anything can be modified to fit you and your horses needs. Always happy to travel further for small groups of horses.

CLIPPING SERVICES

FULL BODY CLIP

Ideal for Show Horses & horses in Heavy Work. This can also be needed for a horse/pony with Cushings Disease who cannot shed its coat.
Removes all hair (head, neck, shoulders, belly, back, legs etc)

TRACE CLIP

Ideal for horses in Light to Medium Work. Removes hair from part of neck, pecs, belly, and part of legs.

HUNTER CLIP

Popular for show horses; hunters and jumpers & those in heavy work.
Removes all hair except a saddle patch and legs

CHASER CLIP

Ideal for horses in Light to Medium Work.
Removes hair from head, part of neck, shoulders, belly.

BLANKET CLIP

Ideal for horses in Medium work.
Removes partial face, full neck, belly - leaving hair on shoulders, back and hip and legs

IRISH TRACE CLIP

Ideal for horses in Light to Medium Work.
Removes hair from neck, part of shoulders under belly.

BIB CLIP

Ideal for horses in Light Work.
Removes hair on neck and chest, and can be done under girth area.

HORSE PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS

BEFORE CLIP:

  • Bathing: Horse must be bathed and cleaned before the appointment (this ensures faster/smooth clipping experience of the horse & no line clipping job).

  • Fully Brushed: If the horse cannot be bathed because of barn equipment, horse must be thoroughly brushed and clean.

  • There is a $90 + on fee for horses that are not prepped before the clipping appointment (dirty horse = a not as neat clipping job and depending not as enjoyable experience for the horse/pony. Dirt and mud get stuck in and wears down clippers/blades/equipment & makes for an uneven cut)

  • Please communicate to me if the horse is difficult when clipping. If it comes down to needing to sedate the horse/pony, I do not administer drugs when needed. This is something a vet or owner will have to administer. This will have to be planned and set up for the day of clipping. If not communicated to me that the horse is difficult to clip, there is an automatic $90 + fee.

  • Driving mileage fee + for those 20 mile from Mercer County New Jersey Area.

DAY OF THE CLIP:

  • There must be a person present at the facility for safety reasons

  • Someone must be present to get the horses from their respected location (I do not go out in the the field and get a horse myself)

  • Designated Quiet Clipping Area: Wash Stall or Cross Tie Area - preferably in a non traffic/busy area. This is to minimize distractions and added stress to the horse.

  • Horse/Pony brushes and if cold, cooler to cover (prefer not to use their own blanket because of hair getting stuck and makes them itchy)

  • Hay and Hay Net: I want the clipping experience to be a positive one. A happy and entertained horse makes for a better clip.

  • Power Outlet - I do have battery powered sheers but prefer to have access if needed. If you do not have please let me know ahead of time.

  • Broom/Shovel/Dust pan/Poop Bucket/Wheel  - I am a neat and tidy person and like to keep it that way! =)

  • Payment upon completion of job

  • I have the right to refuse to clip if I think it is too dangerous for myself or the horse and others.
